A Sideshow Extravaganza consisting of three Superlative Circus Wagons interpret the intersections of art, public, spectacle, and wonder through themes and concepts developed during World’s Largest Things Inc.’s 15 years of investigating roadside attractions, monumental sculpture, and the people and places that inform them. The curated Circus Wagon exhibits feature displays focused on three themes: Art World Wonders, Sculptural Superlatives, and Michigan Marvels. Miniature hand-made versions of iconic monuments paired with images and information about those monuments are viewed through the inward-facing side of each wagon, while the outer signage side of each wagons features sideshow-like painted enhancements. The displays are an extension of our continuing project building the World’s Largest Collection of the World’s Smallest Versions of the World’s Largest Things, a multi-site interactive art installation.
